A mental institution is a hospital where parents send their kids if they are having a mental breakdown, trying to kill themselves, possibly going to overdose on drugs, or want to scare their kids to stop them from doing street drugs. Usually the parents have the cops come pick their kid up and take them to the intake building. Or, the parents tell their kid to go to the intake building on their own, or their kid goes to the intake building on their own if they need help. Parents send their kids to a mental institution so doctors can watch and evaluate their kids to try to help their kids with their illness. If the kid is having a mental breakdown, trying to kill themself, or has a drug addiction the doctor will diagnose the kid by talking to the kid to figure out what’s wrong with the kid. The kid has to listen to the doctor so the doctor can help the kid and then prescribe the kid pills to pop to fix the chemical imbalance in the kid’s brain. The kid goes to an intake building first then once the doctor knows what the kid’s parents want to do with the kid. The kid’s parents can get a court order to make the kid stay at a mental institution for however long is needed to get the kid the help the kid needs. If the kid listens to the doctor then for about a week in the mental institution. If the kid doesn’t listen to the doctor then however long it takes to get the kid to listen to the doctor so the kid gets better. If the kid’s parents don’t get a court order from the court that the kid has to stay at the mental institution the kid can leave the intake building whenever the kid wants to. If the kid’s parents get a court order from court then the kid has to go to a mental institution and the kid’s parents get to pick from any mental institution nearby usually closest to them. And, then the kid has to stay there until the doctor and judge lets the kid go home. After that the ambulance picks up the kid while the kid is handcuffed from the intake building. Then the paramedics put the kid on a stretcher, strap the kid onto the stretcher while handcuffed, put the stretcher into the ambulance, and drive the kid to the mental institution. Once the ambulance gets to the mental institution the paramedics take the kid off the stretcher. Then a couple of nurses take the kid while the kid is still handcuffed to an empty room and tells the kid to take all of their clothes off while a nurse watches. A nurse gives the kid tight nylon underwear, nurse scrubs, socks to wear, and takes the laces from the kid’s shoes so the kid doesn’t strangle themself with the shoelaces and gives the shoes back to the kid with no shoelaces. Next the nurses put the kid in a locked room with windows all the way around the room so the kid can be watched. In this room next to the door on the right side there is a room used for visiting with metal picnic style tables with metal round seats connected to and plastic chairs along the wall. Next to that room there are rooms to sleep in with two beds one on each side of the rooms made out of bricks and a pad on top to sleep on and a bathroom with a shower. In the middle of the locked room there is a hallway. In the front of the hallway on the right side there are concrete tables with concrete chairs so kids can’t throw them. Also in the hallway in the middle on the right side there are free pay phone style phones to use to call someone if the kid needs to call someone. At the end of the hallway there is a room with a satellite TV, some concrete seats to sit on to watch TV, and two metal picnic style tables with metal round seats connected to for playing cards or drawing on. On the other side of the hallway next to the end there is a room to put a kid in if a kid starts going insane with padded walls, padded floor, and a padded table in the middle with medical restraints to strap the kid down to prevent them from injuring themself or others, and then the nurse can give the kid a shot to restrict the freedom of movement or to sedate the kid, and with a little window in the middle of the door so the nurse can see inside. Next to that room there is a room in front of all the bed rooms with windows all the way around the room with two doors one on each end where the nurses and doctors work, watch, evaluate the kids, and can stop the kids from doing something bad or hurt themselves or others. The kid will be put in a locked room with a group of kids co-ed or same sex depending on how the kid interacts with other kids. If the kid is acting good then the nurses will put the kid in a locked room with a group of co-ed kids. If the kid is acting bad then the nurses will put the kid in a locked room with a group of same sex kids. If the kid is put with a group of co-ed kids then does something bad then the kid will be removed from the group of co-ed kids and be put with a group of same sex kids. Then the nurses assign the kid to a bed room with someone of the same sex. After that the doctor talks to the kid and the kid tells the doctor why the kid is here so the doctor can figure out what’s wrong with the kid to help the kid get better. The doctor tells the kid the kid has to wake up at 6 in the morning to go down to the cafeteria to eat breakfast with the other kids, also at lunch, and dinner. The doctor tells the kid the kid has to go down to the recreation room for an hour everyday and participate in an activity like basketball, kickball, or play a board game. The doctor tells the kid I’m going to prescribe such and such kind of pill to the kid to fix the chemical imbalance in the kid’s brain and the kid has to take the pill three times a day. Then the doctor says if the kid doesn’t do all those things then the doctor won’t let the kid go home.
Rehab is a place usually a residential facility where people go to get help to stop doing drugs or alcohol. People have to go to a rehab facility to get away from all the bad temptations and bad people that make them do drugs or alcohol. A rehabilitation worker will help the rehabbers get off the drugs or alcohol by telling them how to do things other than drugs or alcohol, keep themselves busy, sleep, and eat so they stop doing drugs or alcohol and don’t relapse. They also have treatments they have to do that teach them about themselves so they can learn how to stop doing drugs or alcohol.
